  • 1 tbsp Thyme/Savory or interchange with dried thyme
  • 1 tbsp Dill fresh or dried
  • 1 tbsp Mint fresh or dried
  • to taste Salt essential for flavor
  • to taste Pepper essential for flavor
For the Leeks
  • 4 Leeks white portions
For Cooking
  • 1 cup Water for cooking
  • 2 tbsp Vegetable Oil for greasing pan

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 185°C (365°F).
  2. Trim dark green tops from the leeks, slice them lengthwise, and wash thoroughly under cold water.
  3. Blanch leeks in salted boiling water for 20-30 seconds, then submerge in ice water.
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, rice, onion, garlic, and parsley. Add thyme, dill, mint, salt, and pepper.
  5. Layer blanched leeks in the baking pan, fill with meat mixture, and roll them up.
  6. Drizzle vegetable oil on top and pour water around the edges.
  7. Cover the dish tightly with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  8. Remove foil and bake for an additional 30 minutes until golden.
