- Infuse the tequila by slicing fresh jalapeños and placing them in a bottle of tequila. Seal tightly and refrigerate for 2 to 24 hours.
- In a large pitcher, combine the infused tequila, fresh lime juice, and agave nectar. Add orange liqueur if desired, and stir for 30 seconds.
- Prepare serving glasses by rimming them with salt using a lime wedge.
- Fill rimmed glasses with ice just before serving. Pour the margarita mixture, filling glasses three-quarters full.
- Let the margarita sit for 10 minutes to mellow the spice, and garnish with lime wedges and jalapeño slices.
