Method
 

Cupcake Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake tin with liners.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, sift together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together eggs, buttermilk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Gradually mix the wet ingredients into the dry until just blended.
Baking the Cupcakes
  1. Fill each cupcake liner about two-thirds full.
  2. Bake for 18-20 minutes; check doneness with a toothpick.
  3. Let the cupcakes cool in the tin for 5 minutes.
Cooling the Cupcakes
  1. Transfer cupcakes to a wire rack to cool completely.
Making the Galaxy Frosting
  1. Beat the butter until light and creamy, about 2-3 minutes.
