For the Pasta
  • 16 oz Spaghetti Cook until al dente.
For the Meat Sauce
  • 1 lb Ground Beef Substitutable with turkey or sausage.
  • 1 link Italian Sausage Optional.
  • 1 medium Onion Use yellow or white.
  • 2 cloves Garlic Minced.
  • 28 oz Marinara Sauce Homemade or store-bought.
  • 2 tsp Italian Seasoning
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper
For the Cheese Mixture
  • 8 oz Cream Cheese Substitutable with ricotta.
  • 8 oz Ricotta Cheese Or use sour cream.
  • 1 cup Parmesan Cheese Grated.
  • 2 cups Mozzarella Cheese Shredded.
For Assembly
  • 2 tbsp Butter Or olive oil.

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Cook spaghetti in boiling salted water until al dente, then drain and toss with butter.
  3. In a skillet, brown the ground beef and Italian sausage, breaking apart as it cooks.
  4. Sauté diced onion in the meat mixture until translucent, then add minced garlic.
  5. Add marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper to the skillet and simmer.
  6. Mix cream cheese, ricotta, and Parmesan in a bowl until smooth.
  7. Combine the meat sauce with half of the spaghetti.
  8. Layer half of the sauced spaghetti in the baking dish, followed by cheese mixture, and then remaining spaghetti and meat sauce.
  9. Top with mozzarella cheese, cover with foil, and bake for 30 minutes.
  10. Remove foil and bake for another 15 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
  11. Let rest for 10 minutes before serving.
