  • 1/2 cup Buttermilk
Salad
  • 1 head Iceberg Lettuce cut into wedges
  • 6 slices Bacon cooked and chopped
  • 2 large Hard Boiled Eggs sliced
  • 1 cup Cherry Tomatoes halved
  • 1/4 cup Red Onion finely diced
  • 2 tablespoons Champagne Vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh Chives chopped

  • 2 tablespoons Salted Butter for cooking breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon Lemon Zest optional

Method
 

Dressing Preparation
  1. In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, buttermilk, and all seasoning ingredients until smooth and creamy. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
Onion Soaking
  1. Fine-dice the red onion, place in a small bowl, cover with water, add champagne vinegar, and soak for 30 minutes. Drain and set aside.
Lettuce Preparation
  1. Cut iceberg lettuce into 4 to 6 wedges and rinse under cold water. Pat dry.
Breadcrumb Preparation
  1. In a skillet, melt salted butter, add breadcrumbs and sauté until golden brown, about 5–7 minutes. Mix in lemon zest, let cool.
Salad Assembly
  1. On a large platter, arrange lettuce wedges. Drizzle dressing over each wedge, layer with bacon, eggs, tomatoes, and soaked onions.
Topping
  1. Sprinkle breadcrumbs over the wedges and garnish with chives. Serve immediately.
