Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a small pot, bring 1 cup of water to a vigorous boil over medium-high heat.
  2. Once the water is boiling, add the peel of half an orange and a cinnamon stick. Simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  3. Introduce 1 black tea bag or 1 teaspoon of loose leaf tea to the boiling mixture. Steep for 3-5 minutes.
  4. Using a fine mesh strainer, carefully pour the infused tea mixture into a cup, discarding the solids.
  5. While the tea is still warm, stir in 1 teaspoon of brown sugar and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Mix until dissolved.
  6. Pour in 1 cup of milk into the warm tea mixture. Heat gently over low heat for 2-3 minutes.
  7. If desired, strain the tea mixture again. Serve in a tall glass and garnish with an orange peel twist or slice.
