Step-by-Step Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine grated onion, ground beef, breadcrumbs, salt, black pepper, heavy cream, and egg. Mix gently until just combined, divide and shape into patties.
- Heat olive oil and butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add patties and cook for 4–5 minutes on each side until golden brown. Transfer to a plate and cover.
- In the same skillet, reduce heat, add minced garlic and diced onion, sauté for about 2 minutes until fragrant.
- Sprinkle salt, black pepper, and flour over the sautéed mixture, stir until combined. Gradually pour in chicken broth, simmer for about 2 minutes.
- Stir in heavy cream and chopped dill, bring to a gentle boil, then simmer for about 1–2 minutes.
- Return hamburger steaks to the skillet, let them simmer in the sauce for 5–6 minutes, garnish with additional dill and black pepper before serving.

Notes
The hamburger mixture can be prepared up to 8 hours in advance. Use fresh dill for better flavor, and do not overcrowd the skillet when searing the patties.
