Making the Donuts
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients until well combined.
- Pour in the wet ingredients and stir gently until a soft dough begins to form.
- Gently fold in the sesame seeds until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
- Heat a deep frying pan over medium heat and add enough oil to submerge the donuts, aiming for 350°F.
- Drop dollops of dough into the oil and fry for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Remove from oil and drain on paper towels to keep them light and less greasy.
- Dust with powdered sugar if desired before serving warm.
