Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a small to medium bowl, add the vegan sour cream or mayonnaise, followed by tomato paste or ketchup, and maple syrup. Whisk these ingredients together vigorously for about 1–2 minutes until they blend into a smooth and creamy mixture.
  2. Sprinkle in the rice vinegar, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and kala namak if using sour cream. Stir everything together gently for an additional minute.
  3. To achieve your desired texture, add 1 tablespoon of water to the bowl and mix well. Gradually incorporate more water, one tablespoon at a time.
  4. Taste your Yum Yum sauce and adjust seasoning if needed by adding more salt, garlic powder, or hot sauce.
  5. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or transfer the sauce to an airtight container and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight.
  6. After chilling, stir the Yum Yum sauce and check consistency or seasoning before serving.
