Method
 

Blueberry Preparation
  1. Wash blueberries and place them in a Dutch oven. Sprinkle with sugar, water, and cinnamon. Stir gently.
  2. Cook on medium-high until simmering, then reduce heat to medium for 5-10 minutes until thickened.
Dumpling Preparation
  1. In a bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar. Cut in butter until crumbly.
  2. Add cold milk slowly, stirring until a soft dough forms.
Combine and Cook
  1. Drop spoonfuls of dumpling dough onto the simmering blueberries, covering them completely.
  2. Cover and reduce heat to low. Steam for 15 minutes without lifting the lid.
Serving
  1. Scoop servings of blueberry filling and dumplings into bowls. Serve warm, ideally with vanilla ice cream.
