Blueberry Preparation
- Wash blueberries and place them in a Dutch oven. Sprinkle with sugar, water, and cinnamon. Stir gently.
- Cook on medium-high until simmering, then reduce heat to medium for 5-10 minutes until thickened.
Dumpling Preparation
- In a bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar. Cut in butter until crumbly.
- Add cold milk slowly, stirring until a soft dough forms.
Combine and Cook
- Drop spoonfuls of dumpling dough onto the simmering blueberries, covering them completely.
- Cover and reduce heat to low. Steam for 15 minutes without lifting the lid.
Serving
- Scoop servings of blueberry filling and dumplings into bowls. Serve warm, ideally with vanilla ice cream.
