Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Prepare the chocolate cake according to package instructions or your favorite recipe. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes. Cool and cut into bite-sized pieces.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream on medium speed until soft peaks form (about 3-5 minutes). Optionally fold in mascarpone for extra richness.
  3. Layer chocolate cake pieces in the trifle dish followed by whipped cream and cherries. Repeat until all ingredients are layered, finishing with whipped cream and cherries on top.
  4. Cover the trifle with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least one hour to allow flavors to meld.
  5. Garnish with extra whipped cream and whole cherries before serving. Enjoy!
