Ingredients

  • 2 cups Powdered Sugar Can replace with coconut sugar for less sweetness.
  • 1/4 cup Heavy Cream Non-dairy cream works for lighter fillings.
For the Coating
  • 1 cup White Chocolate Chips or Candy Melts Can use dark chocolate for richer taste.
  • 1 tablespoon Red or Pink Gel Food Coloring Omit for classic white coating.
For Decoration
  • 1 cup Sprinkles Heart-shaped or themed sprinkles add charm.

Method
 

Cake Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, prepare the box white cake mix according to the package instructions, adding in the oil, water, and eggs. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  3. Pour the batter evenly into the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Bake for 18-22 minutes until the cakes turn golden and spring back when touched.
  5. Allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
  6. Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut out pairs of heart shapes.
Filling and Coating
  1. Beat softened unsalted butter until creamy, then gradually add powdered sugar, mixing in vanilla extract and heavy cream.
  2. Spread filling on the flat side of one heart and top with another heart, flat side down.
  3. Melt white chocolate chips or candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring every 30 seconds.
  4. Incorporate food coloring until you achieve your desired shade.
  5. Dip each heart cake into the melted chocolate coating and allow excess to drip off.
  6. Decorate with sprinkles before the chocolate sets.
  7. Let hearts set on a wire rack for 30 minutes before serving.
