  • 1 cup Ube Halaya (Ube Jam) Use store-bought or homemade.
  • 1 cup Brown Sugar Muscovado sugar can deepen flavors.
For the Wrapping
  • 10 pieces Spring Roll Wrappers Lumpia wrappers serve as a good alternative.
For Frying
  • 2 cups Cooking Oil Vegetable oil or canola oil work well.

Method
 

Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. Peel the saba bananas and slice them lengthwise into quarters.
  2. Lay a spring roll wrapper on a flat surface, place one banana quarter at the corner, add ube halaya and sprinkle brown sugar.
  3. Fold the bottom corner over filling, roll diagonally, tucking in the sides and sealing with water.
  4. Heat cooking oil in a frying pan or wok to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Fry the rolled turon for 3-5 minutes on each side until golden-brown.
  6. Drain on paper towels and allow to cool slightly before serving.
  7. Serve as is or with a scoop of ice cream or condensed milk.
