Step-by-Step Instructions for Homemade Crostini
  1. Preheat your oven to a low broil at around 500°F (260°C). Position the oven rack in the center and prepare a baking sheet.
  2. Slice the baguette into ½-inch thick pieces and arrange them in a single layer on the baking sheet.
  3. Melt the unsalted butter or warm the olive oil and coat one side of each baguette slice with it. Sprinkle with seasonings.
  4. Broil the first side for about 2–3 minutes until light golden brown.
  5. Flip each crostini, coat the unseasoned side with melted butter or olive oil, and sprinkle with seasonings again. Broil for another 2–3 minutes.
  6. Cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before serving with your favorite dips or toppings.
