Step-by-Step Instructions for Homemade Crostini
- Preheat your oven to a low broil at around 500°F (260°C). Position the oven rack in the center and prepare a baking sheet.
- Slice the baguette into ½-inch thick pieces and arrange them in a single layer on the baking sheet.
- Melt the unsalted butter or warm the olive oil and coat one side of each baguette slice with it. Sprinkle with seasonings.
- Broil the first side for about 2–3 minutes until light golden brown.
- Flip each crostini, coat the unseasoned side with melted butter or olive oil, and sprinkle with seasonings again. Broil for another 2–3 minutes.
- Cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before serving with your favorite dips or toppings.
