  • 3 cloves minced garlic adjust to preference

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering, about 2 minutes.
  2. Add 1 pound of shrimp and 8 ounces of sausage, sprinkle with 1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning, and sauté for 5–6 minutes until shrimp is pink and opaque. Transfer to a plate.
  3. Add 2 tablespoons of butter to the skillet; melt it and scrape the pan to incorporate flavor.
  4. Sauté 1 sliced onion, 1 sliced red bell pepper, and optional 1 sliced green bell pepper in melted butter for 4–5 minutes until softened.
  5. Stir in 3 cloves of minced garlic and sauté for another 30 seconds.
  6. Pour in 1 cup of chicken broth, remaining Cajun seasoning, and 1 cup of heavy whipping cream. Bring to a gentle simmer and cook for 5–7 minutes until sauce thickens.
  7. Return shrimp and sausage to the skillet, stirring to coat in sauce. Cook for another 2–3 minutes.
  8. Taste and season with salt, pepper, and optional cayenne pepper before serving.
